Custom kitchen remodel with large island, quartz countertops, and custom cabinetry in a Seacoast New Hampshire home.

One of the first questions homeowners ask when considering a kitchen remodel is, “How much is this going to cost?” The honest answer is that kitchen remodeling costs can vary widely depending on the size, scope, and selections involved.

At J&J Kitchen & Bath, we believe in helping homeowners understand realistic cost ranges early, while refining pricing throughout the design process so expectations stay aligned and surprises are avoided.

Typical Kitchen Remodel Cost Ranges in Seacoast NH

While every project is different, most kitchen remodels we complete fall into the following general ranges:

Lower-Range Kitchen Remodel: $30,000 – $50,000

This range typically includes:

  • Smaller to mid-sized kitchens

  • Minimal layout changes

  • More cost-conscious cabinet lines

  • Standard countertop materials

  • Limited structural or mechanical changes

These projects focus on improving function and appearance without significantly altering the footprint of the kitchen.

Mid-Range Kitchen Remodel: $50,000 – $75,000

Mid-range projects often involve:

  • Larger kitchens or expanded scope

  • Higher-quality cabinet lines

  • Upgraded countertops and finishes

  • More detailed tile or backsplash work

  • Some layout, electrical, or plumbing changes

This range allows for more flexibility in materials and design while still keeping overall costs controlled.

High-End Kitchen Remodel: $75,000 – $150,000+

Higher-end remodels typically include:

  • Premium or highly customizable cabinetry

  • Significant layout or structural changes

  • High-end countertop materials

  • Custom storage solutions and details

  • Larger kitchens or more complex designs

These projects are driven by both size and scope, with materials and design choices playing a major role in final cost.

What Drives the Cost of a Kitchen Remodel?

Kitchen remodel pricing is influenced by many moving parts, but the biggest cost drivers we see are:

Cabinet Line & Level of Customization

Cabinetry is often one of the largest investments in a kitchen. For example, a fully customizable line like StarMark offers significantly more options and flexibility than more budget-friendly lines like ForeverMark, which naturally impacts pricing.

Countertop Material

Material choice can swing costs dramatically. Natural stone, quartz, and specialty materials all vary widely in price and fabrication requirements.

Size & Scope of the Project

Ultimately, size and scope matter most. A larger kitchen, more cabinetry, additional storage, or expanded footprint will naturally increase costs compared to a smaller, more contained project.

Structural, Electrical, or Plumbing Work

Moving walls, adjusting framing, or reworking electrical and plumbing systems adds complexity and labor — which affects both pricing and timelines.

How We Handle Pricing & Budgets

With thousands of individual components and millions of cabinet style combinations available, it’s difficult to lock in an exact price at the very beginning of a project.

Instead, our approach works like this:

  • We provide rough ballpark ranges early, once initial scope and direction are established

  • Pricing is refined as selections are made and details are confirmed

  • We do our best to stay within our clients’ budgets, which are incredibly helpful to share upfront

Clear communication during the design phase allows us to align expectations and provide dependable pricing as the project takes shape.

What We Do (and Don’t) Offer

To help set clear expectations, there are a few services we generally do not recommend or provide:

  • We do not replace cabinet doors only, as doors often represent a large portion of cabinet cost

  • We typically do not recommend painting or refinishing cabinets, as we don’t trust in the long-term durability of that approach

  • We do sell cabinetry delivered directly to your jobsite for contractors and DIY homeowners when a full remodel service is not needed

  • We do work very well with other contractors, and offer design services, and sales to contractors and their clients

Our focus is on solutions that provide lasting value and reliable results.

Why Accurate Pricing Requires Design Decisions

A kitchen remodel involves roughly 5,000 individual SKUs, and our total cabinet style offerings exceed two million possible combinations. With that many variables, accurate pricing depends on finalized layouts, materials, and selections.

While early estimates are possible, dependable pricing comes from thoughtful design and clear decisions — not guesswork.
